Sonya Kelly
Sonya studied Drama and Classics at Trinity College, Dublin.
As a solo artist, Sonya has performed her own work in Ireland, the UK and America. She was shortlisted for The UK Funny Women Awards at the Comedy Store in 2006.
Her most recent project, the self-penned memoir HOW TO BE AN ALIEN, produced by Rough Magic and directed by Gina Moxley, premiered at the 2014 Dublin Tiger Fringe Festival and was awarded Best Production that year. Since then the show has and continues to travel both nationally and internationally with performances at the Pavillion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire, the Irish Arts Centre, New York and the Irish Festival of Oulu, Finland scheduled for 2016.
Her previous work, THE WHEELCHAIR ON MY FACE, written by Sonya and developed as part of Show In A Bag in association with ITI, Absolut Fringe and Fishamble Theatre Company also toured extensively in Ireland and abroad. In 2012 the show won the Scotsman Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and it was listed as Critic's pick in The New York Times in 2013.

(Project Brand New) and CARE (Willfredd Theatre). Dublin Fringe work includes THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES and THE TRUTH OF THE MOON.
Film, television and radio work includes; THE MARRIAGE, THE CASSIDYS, MARRY ME, THE BEAUTY BEAST, PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY, DAMAGE and ROMANTIC ROAD, a two-part television feature directed by Michael Karen. Sonya also writes and performs in David McSavage's very popular THE SAVAGE EYE sketch show and has just completed filming on Oscar winning director Anders Walters' forthcoming feature I KILL GIANTS in which she plays the role of Mrs Lakey opposite Zoe Saldana and Madison Wolfe.
She is based in Dublin.
