Michael James Ford

 

Michael is currently filming the role of Brian Donovan in CORKED for Deadpan Pictures/Acorn TV. He also wrapped filming on Hallmark Feature RELUCTANT ROYAL as Jeffers, THIS IS NOT A MURDER MYSTERY as Superintendent Coney and the role of Lawrence Langner in the feature film BLUE MOON for Sony Pictures directed by Richard Linklater.

Recent screen credits include the role of Laurence Cavendish in new detective series HARRY WILD alongside Jane Seymour, Nigel in VERDIGRIS, Maurice Blennerhasset in DEAD STILL for Deadpan Pictures, Nigel Fitzjames in the second series of the RTÉ legal drama STRIKING OUT, the role of Crouch in Declan Reck's feature film THE FLAG, the RTÉ series BRIDGET AND EAMON, the role of Sir Leonard Figg in CHARLIE directed by Kenny Glanaan for RTÉ/Touchpaper, PENNY DREADFUL for Showtime, MRS BROWN’S BOYS D’MOVIE, and Julian Jarrold’s BECOMING JANE.

On stage, Michael played the role of Creon in X’ntigone for Prime Cut at MAC Theatre Belfast, and Abbey Theatre.  Michael also recently recently played the roles of Brabantio and Montano in OTHELLO, Lord Capulet in ROMEO AND JULIET at The Mill Theatre Dundrum, directed by Geoff O'Keefe, and the role of Frank for a revival of The Lyric Theatre's production of EDUCATING RITA directed by Emma Jordan, which toured Ireland in early 2017. Prior to that he appeared in the role of Gratiano in the Abbey Theatre's production of OTHELLO directed by Joe Dowling. Further theatre credits include the Gate Theatre’s production of ROMEO & JULIET, directed by Wayne Jordan, Verdant Productions’ BORSTAL BOY directed by Conall Morrisson at the Gaiety Theatre and the Lyric Theatre’s production of HOW MANY MILES TO BABYLON.

 

Michael is also an experienced voiceover artist (commercial and radio drama).
