Amy McAllister

 

Amy can currently be seen on the second series of A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES for Sky/Bad Wolf. She was recently seen on MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE for PBS/UKTV and SECRET LIFE OF BOYS for ABC Australia/CBBC.

 

Other television credits include THERE SHE GOES for BBC2 which stars David Tennant and Jessica Hynes, the roles of Bridget in WITLESS (BBC), Ruth in the THE GREAT FIRE (ITV/Ecosse Films), Mary in CALL THE MIDWIFE (BBC/Neal Street Productions), as well as guest roles on EMMERDALE (ITV), HOLBY CITY (BBC) and DOCTORS (BBC).

 

On stage, Amy recently played the role of Kes in the critically acclaimed one-person show SCORCH by Stacey Gregg at Soho Theatre in London, the Project Arts Centre in Dublin, and on tour. Since premiering in 2015 Scorch has received numerous awards including the Irish Times Theatre Awards Best New Play, Irish Writer's Guild Best Theatre Script, a Fringe First and Holden Street Theatre Award (2016) and Adelaide Fringe Theatre and Critics Circle Choice Awards (2017). Amy also won the Summerhall Vertebra 2016 Best Actor Award for her performance as Kes.

 

Further stage credits include THE NOISES (Old Red Lion), Head Rot Holiday (Hope Theatre), DIAMOND (Bush Theatre/BBC Arts), HARRIET MARTINEAU DREAMS OF DANCING directed by Max Robert's (Live Theatre), FOREVER YOURS, MARY-LOU directed by Laurence Boswell (Theatre Royal Bath), Marina Carr’s HECUBA directed by Erica Whyman (Royal Shakespeare Company) and SONS WITHOUT FATHERS (Arcola Theatre).

 

In 2015, Amy received a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Irish Times Theatre Awards for her role of Minnie in SHADOW OF A GUNMAN, directed by Wayne Jordan for the Abbey Theatre Dublin and the Lyric Theatre, Belfast. Film credits include the roles of Sister Anunciata in Stephen Frears’ PHILOMENA, Gabriela in FOR LOVE OR MONEY, Miss Howie in Evgeny Ruman's RUBY STRANGELOVE, and Nellie in THE MAN ON HER MIND.

 

Amy is also an award-winning comedian, slam poet, published writer and highly experienced voice-over artist. Notable voice-over credits include DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD (Paramount/Nickelodeon), ARTEMIS FOWL (Disney), PADDINGTON, RIPPER STREET, BLACK SAILS, DOWNTON ABBEY and IN THE FLESH.

 

She is based in London.
